Eurosat and A2B have signed a Distribution Agreement to launch a UK variant of the Multibox - a unique digital "micro-headend" - in the UK. The Multibox is the simplest and cheapest integrated solution for distributing digital TV round an existing analogue TV distribution system.

The Multibox is a unique product that receives all 5 public service broadcasting channels in Digital and converts them to high-quality analogue TV signals that are fed down existing TV distribution systems. This "instant-fit" solution is ideal for systems with a number of legacy analogue TVs and VCRs such as shared housing, hotels, bed & breakfast establishments, hospitals, schools and prisons.

Just one Multibox installed at the headend immediately gives ALL analogue TVs and VCRs access to the 5 digital PSB TV Channels (BBC1, BBC2, ITV, C4, Five) without any need for any more equipment at the TV or VCR. Plus it passes ALL digital multiplexes through so residents can, if they wish, add a standard Digital STB to gain access to all Freeview and DTT services in addition. Click here for product info. The Multibox has been presented to the principal DSO (Digital Switchover) bodies, the DTI and Digital UK who welcome its introduction.
